Harvest Festival 3 October

It’s almost Harvest Festival time in Morcott – on Sunday 3 October, there will be a Family Service at Church starting at 11am.  Please bring any glut of veggies from your allotment, plus jars of jam, chutney, fruit from the garden – all your harvest gifts.

Immediately after the service, we’ll move to the Village Hall where the Rev Geoff Angell and Tessa Angell are cooking lunch for the village!  This is their harvest gift to the village and it’s a wonderful gesture.

There’s no charge for this simple two-course lunch, but we’ll welcome donations on the day to cover the cost of ingredients.

We can only sit about 60 in the Village Hall and Tessa and Geoff MUST know how many they’re cooking for, so please book your places by returning the tear-off slip on the leaflet that is coming through your letterboxes this week.  This is also your opportunity to tell us if you’re vegetarian.

Bring your own beer/cider/wine and soft drinks for the kids.  We’ll provide coffee/tea afterwards.

We’ll be auctioning your harvest gifts after the lunch, and the PCC unanimously decided that this year’s beneficiary should be the DEC for victims of the Pakistan floods.

PS – We’ll be decorating the Church for harvest on Saturday morning, 2 October from 9.30am.  All help welcome, from arranging flowers to sweeping up.
