Friday 27 April 2012 at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Church, Morcott
We are very lucky to be welcoming such a wonderful choir to Morcott for an evening of outstanding music. This young team, under the leadership of conductor Peter Davis, is invited to perform not only locally, but nationally and overseas, at venues including York Minster, Kings College Chapel, Dublin and Paris. They are also one of just six finalists in the prestigious 2012 BBC Songs of Praise School Choir of the Year competition!
The choir will perform a varied programme of music that includes Vivaldi and Byrd, Faure and Franck from past centuries, as well as Ireland and Gershwin from more recent times. We’re also looking forward to hearing a talented young harpist.
This is a joint fundraiser for the Church and the Village Hall and the evening will be a highlight in Morcott’s 2012 calendar. The church’s acoustics are excellent, we’ll make sure it’s an evening to remember, with a warm and welcoming venue, and refreshments will be available at the interval. Tickets are £10 from 01572 747 381. We expect music lovers from across Rutland to want to attend, so please ring now to secure your tickets,
