Morcott Conservation Area Appraisal

Rutland County Council is seeking views from Villagers on a Conservation Area Appraisal for Morcott.  It is intended to define those elements that contribute to Morcott’s special character and appearance and which justify its designation as a conservation area.

This is part of a programme of activity identified in the Local Plan to protect and enhance historic assets.  If adopted, the report will have the status of Supplementary Planning Guidance and will be taken into account when determining planning applications.

Here is the CONSULTATION DOCUMENT in pdf form.  Note before you hit the print button that it is 35 pages long.

Alternatively, a copy of the document may be viewed in person during normal opening times at Uppiingham Library (Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat); Ketton Library (Wed, Fri, Sat); RCC’s Catmose office in Oakham (Mon-Fri) and at Oakham Library (Mon-Sat).

Morcott Parish Council is organising a discussion about the document at Morcott Village Hall between 6.30 – 7.30pm on Tuesday 13 May 2014 and all villagers are invited to attend.

The consultation period runs until 4.45pm on 24 June.  All comments from individuals or organisations must be made in writing by this time, preferably (says RCC) by using the response form provided at rutland.gov.uk/conservationareaappraisals or by email to localplan@rutland.gov.uk
