Gardening Group Meets

This Saturday 30 April, at 10.30am, Pat Simmonds is giving a flower arranging demonstration in the Village Hall. All welcome (not only group members).

After Pat’s demo, the arrangements will be raffled off, so bring some cash for that, and for the coffee & biscuits.

On May 18th, at 6pm, there’s a trip to Blatherwycke Garden, which is near Peterborough. This private garden opens under the NGS scheme in July, but is opening just for us this month.  Blatherwycke Hall was demolished in the 1940s and its gardens ‘lost’ until 2010. Since then, the owners have been renovating the derelict 4 acre walled gardens. So far a large kitchen garden, wall trained fruit trees, extensive herbaceous borders, seasonal beds, parterre, pleaching orchard and wild flower meadows have been built, planted and sown.

There is a modest charge: more details from Tricia Jones or Jane Page. We expect to liaise for car lifts.
