Rutland Local History & Record Society: Morcott

The Society is visiting Morcott on Saturday 17 September. Villagers are welcome to attend the afternoon events, but advance booking is requested, accompanied by the fee of £5 per adult. The format of the afternoon is as follows, with the welcome and ‘Master Masons’ talk taking place in Church, and the Exhibition in, and walk starting from the Village Hall.

  • 1.45pm PowerPoint presentation
  • 2pm Welcome and Introduction from Edward Baines
  • 2.10pm ‘Master Masons – the Joyce Family Legacy to Morcott’ An illustrated talk by Tony Martin
  • 3pm Morcott Local History Exhibition and light refreshments
  • 4pm Village Walk: a leaflet-guided historical walk

A leaflet about this has been delivered to every house in the village: it includes a booking form which needs to be returned to RLHRS at Rutland County Museum in Oakham by 9 September, along with your £5 fee. Further details from secretary@rutlandhistory.org
