The first meeting of the village Gardening Group in 2017 is at The Cedars on the High Street, by kind invitation of Amanda Banfield, starting promptly at 7.30pm on Tuesday 17 January.
Guest speaker Jill Stewart will talk about Medieval Plants, and How Chichele College Garden was created.
Located in Higham Ferrers, Chichele College is a rare example of a chantry college. It was founded in 1422 by Henry Chichele, then Archbishop of Canterbury. The gatehouse, chapel and other remains of the college buildings survive. The gardens are open daily, and entry is free.
There will be a small charge to cover costs.
