This is about the White Horse Inn, which is an important issue, and deserves everyone’s attention. (Note also that an election has been called in order to fill the vacancy on the Parish Council.) PLEASE ATTEND!

TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE ELECTORATE OF THE VILLAGE OF MORCOTT
THE CHAIRMAN OF MORCOTT PARISH COUNCIL IS CALLING A PARISH MEETING
AT 7.00pm on Wednesday 26th July 2017 in Morcott Village Hall
TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING:
1. WHETHER TO HOLD A REFERENDUM (VILLAGE POLL) TO ESTABLISH THE OPINION OF THE ELECTORATE ON THE PROPOSAL, BY BURGHLEY ESTATES, TO REFURBISH THE WHITE HORSE INN AND DEVELOP HOUSES ON THE PADDOCK.
Note: At least 10 Nominees from the electorate in favour of a poll are required for RCC to consider this proposal.
2. THE QUESTION TO BE POSED IN THE VILLAGE POLL AND THE WORDING ON VOTING SLIPS, SHOULD A POLL TAKE PLACE.
Note: The wording proposed is subject to the approval of Morcott Parish Council and the Returning Officer, Rutland County Council.
IF APPROVED BY RCC IT IS INTENDED THAT THE VILLAGE POLL TAKES PLACE ON THE SAME DAY AS THE ELECTION OF A PARISH COUNCILLOR TO FILL THE CASUAL VACANCY. FOR THIS ELECTION TO TAKE PLACE AT LEAST TWO VALID CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO BE NOMINATED.
VOTING IN THE VILLAGE POLL WILL BE RESTRICTED TO BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 4PM AND 9PM ON THE DAY OF THE ELECTION WITH NO FACILITY FOR POSTAL OR PROXY VOTES.
