UDPATE/CLARIFICATION FROM THE PARISH CLERK ON 4 AUGUST:
Why are we having an election? Because 10 residents of Morcott called for an election to fill the ‘casual vacancy’ on Morcott Parish Council created when Jane Williams resigned.
The names of those nominated will not be published until after the closing date (which is 10 August).
The cost for holding an election has been estimated by Rutland County Council as between £2000 and £2500. This will be paid out of Morcott Parish Council funds. (SA)
