Morcott Gardening Group 2019 programme

The Gardening Group has announced plans for the first six months of the year, starting with Thursday 10 January, at 7.30pm. A return visit from John Gibson who is talking about “Tulips”. Meet at Windmill View.
Tuesday 12 February is a visit to the winter garden at Anglesey Abbey nr Cambridge. Meet at 29 High St at 10am before heading off.  Please let Tricia know in advance, so we can car share.
Tuesday 26 February at 7.30pm is at The Cedars on the High Street, for an informal meeting on the topic of Propagation Part 1 with a seed packet swap, advice on sowing seeds with a Q&A session.
Saturday 16 March at 10.30am. Practical session “Spring tidying and Propagation Part 2 talking about perennials. This get together starts at The Cedars.
Thursday 4 April at 7.30pm. Mary Caroe will talk on “Vann & the Garden.” Vann was the wonderful house used as the location of ‘Howards End’ by the BBC in the recent drama series. This is at 29 High Street.
Wednesday 15 May at 10.30am. A visit to Rassalls Nursery in Little Bytham (beautiful plants to buy & lovely cafe). Meet at 29 High Street (car share).
Sunday 9 June is “Open Gardens” day in Morcott in aid of Church Funds. The Gardening Group has been asked to supply & run a plant stall for this event. There is plenty of time to grow extra plants from cuttings or seeds for this event. If you have any extra seeds please bring to the February (26th) event and we will plant them up. Jane Williams is organising the Open Gardens (held on just the one day), so there will be more information nearer the time. Please plant up!
At each indoor event we’ll have tea, coffee, probably cake…. cost £3 for each event to cover costs.
